Sophie is turning 14!!

Sophie is pretty awesome! She is quite an actress which makes her very entertaining and quite funny! She always has something to say and add to our lessons. She is smart and she knows her stuff when it comes to the gospel. She is kind and caring and a great friend! We love her and we don't want to give her up to the Mia Maids, but since we don't have a choice I guess we will share!

The girls wanted to have a party for Sophie for our activity so we played a game called Boxers and Briefs and it is not inappropriate as the name would suggest! Its super fun ans you get to know each other better while having lots of laughs!

I wish I had gotten a picture of just the birthday girl, but a fussy baby made that difficult! Hopefully, I can add one later!

And then we ate brownies that looked like this! And, yes, they are the most delicious brownies on the planet!

Happy Birthday Sophie!!!

Why so we have adversity?

Sis. Taylor gave us a fab lesson on the subject of adversity and why we have it. She talked about how a butterfly must go through the struggle of getting out of its cocoon so that it's wings will be strong enough to fly. If the butterfly is cut from it's cocoon it will not be able to use its wings and it will die. And through that lesson of the butterfly we learned that we need to have struggles in our own lives so we can grow and become strong and learn to solve our own problems and overcome adversity in our lives.

Here are some of the videos Tracy shared. We sure love the church videos!

There was this one.

And this one too!

Oh and don't forget this one!

I love how the girls really participate in the lesson. They are very knowledgeable about the gospel, share their own experiences and seem to really want to find out more. So, Beehives, ya, you know who you are! You better remember what this lesson was about when we ask you on Sunday!

Cupcake Wars!

We had a great activity last Wednesday! Why was is so great?? Well it involved eating cupcakes, need I say more?  No, I really don't. But I will since that is the point of this blog. :0)

The Laurels in a last minute run home for toppings made some fabulous peanut butter cup cupcakes! They were delectable thanks to Sis. Rubow's amazing pinterest skills and Sis. Hiles secret ingredients she used for the cupcakes!

The Beehives were going for the cutest themed cupcakes with red velvet cupcakes, cream cheese frosting and some Valentine decorations! I think they hit it on the nail with cuteness!

Sister Ockey really out did herself with some irresistibly, creamy peanut buttercup cupcakes. (Yes, we got double the PB and that is how much we all love peanut butter in our YW's). Brooke brought the cup cakes and the Mia Maids looked like they definitely had to use some skills to decorate because the presentation was perfect!

Here are Sis. Ockey, Sis. Rubow and Sis. Hiles chatting.

Jessie provided us with some very awesome entertainment.

Judging the presentation of the cupcakes.

This was during the decorating process. My beehives are so darn cute!

Eliza makes me laugh! They all had fun, don't you agree!

Sugar highs were starting up at this point!

I think in the end we all were winners since we got to enjoy 3 boutique worthy cupcakes in one night! Yum!

Learning,Living, and Teaching the Gospel

Learning, living and teaching the gospel is what Young Women's is all about! Our group of young women are an amazing group of stalwart followers of Christ. They do their best, set good examples and are always striving to be better people!

My plan is to record these little ladies on their journey through the Young Women program, and show how much they grow and learn and have lots of fun along the way!
